Having recently joined the Acceleration Partners team back in February, what are some initial lessons you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned that affiliate marketing programs are completely customizable to your client. From the types of campaigns that you launch, to the reporting you provide to the types of partners you recruit, each account team runs their own unique program.
How would you describe what you do in your role as Associate Account Manager to friends and family?
I’m an avid podcast listener, so I usually explain how affiliate marketing works using an example of an ad you hear on a podcast. The podcast host doesn’t work for the advertiser’s company, but they use their channel to promote that advertiser to their audience. It’s that type of campaign that I would manage from recruitment of the partner through implementation and tracking of campaign performance.
What got you interested in working in affiliate marketing?
I come from a biology and healthcare background, so affiliate marketing was a complete departure from what I had done in the past. What interested me about affiliate marketing was that you not only have to be strategic and analytical in your approach to these marketing campaigns, but also incredibly creative! I use both my left brain and right brain every day.
What has your experience been like working on a large account team for one of Acceleration Partners’ prominent, global clients?
Working on one large, global account provides a lot of variability in my daily tasks, which I enjoy. I work across three programs that all have incredibly different target audiences, so one day I’m recruiting manufacturing publication partners and the next I’m planning a webinar for executive assistants. There’s always something fun coming up!
Of Acceleration Partners’ three core values – Own it, Embrace Relationships, and Excel & Improve – which one (or all) of these have you seen or implemented the most in your time here?
While I see all three core values exemplified in my Acceleration Partners teammates every day, Embrace Relationships is one that is most important to me in my professional life. Even in a remote company, the rapport we’ve built within the team and with our clients makes me look forward to coming to work each day.
What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
In the summers, I enjoy running, grass volleyball, pickleball, Cubs games and spending time with friends and family. In the winter, you can find me watching a holiday movie while knitting a hat!
What bucket list item would you most want to check off in the next six months?
I’d love to train for a marathon! I’ll be cheering on friends at both the Chicago and New York marathons this year, so hopefully I’ll be participating next year.
